Vasilis Kampitsis is a man whose career reflects the value of hard work, perseverance, and love for his homeland.
A self-made man, he left for New York in 1963 as a young man in search of a better future. He started out humbly, as a dishwasher, and soon after worked as a bus boy at Rockefeller Center—where, on his very first day, he had the unique experience of serving water to Robert and Jacqueline Kennedy.
With faith in himself and love for his work, he soon made his own way in the restaurant business, showcasing Greek passion and hospitality through his own businesses in New York. At the same time, he never ceased to be an active member of the Greek community — he was President of the Greek Republicans of New York and one of the founders of the Kefalos Association.

Return to the roots
After years of creative work in America, he returned to his homeland, where he continued to contribute with the same passion. He was actively involved in public life, as President of the Prefectural Council and then Deputy Mayor of his region. Today, Vasilis Kampitsis supervises and supports the Kampitsis Group of Companies, which is active in the hospitality, vehicle rental, and real estate services sectors. His presence, experience, and values continue to be the cornerstone of the Group—guided by the hard work, honesty, and passion that accompanied him every step of his life.
